Anyone who says they don’t like a surprise ending in a book is probably a big liar. Maybe they don’t like books that have wacky, totally out-of-the-blue endings; we don’t like those, either. But books that pleasantly give you something to think about because they don’t end the way you thought they might—we’ll take one of those any day.
