Sean Bean Liked GoldenEye N64, But Says His Head "Looked a Bit Square"

Lord of the Rings actor Sean Bean enjoyed appearing in Nintendo 64 cult classic GoldenEye 007, but thought the developers made his head look “a bit square.”

“Oh, it’s good, it’s great!” Bean said to a fan during a fascinating Reddit AMA last night. “Especially because it’s so popular, it’s like, quite unique really. It was such a big hit. But I think I’ve seen him. I think my head looks a bit square, innit.”

GoldenEye 007 was based on the 1995 James Bond movie GoldenEye. At the time of the game’s release in 1997, video game graphics were not all that realistic, so it wasn’t just Bean’s character, Alec Trevelyan, whose head was somewhat oddly shaped.

Bean also did voicework for 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. If you have time, Bean’s Reddit AMA is worth a look. Another highlight is a wild anecdote involving Nicolas Cage, some drinks, and a prehistoric cave bear skull.
