Country singer Daron Norwood was found dead in his Texas apartment on Wednesday, according to multiple publications. He was 49.
A spokesman for the Hereford police department told the Associated Press that while the singer’s cause of death has yet to be determined at this time, they do not suspect foul play.
Police told Us Weekly that Norwood was last seen alive with friends on Tuesday and his landlord found his body in his apartment on Wednesday afternoon.
The singer had previously struggled with substance abuse and opened up to Country Weekly in 2002 about getting sober back in 1995.
Norwood was best known for the songs “If It Wasn’t For Her I Wouldn’t Have You” and “Cowboys Don’t Cry.”
