Action Comics #34 Review

The newest issue of Action Comics gives us the beginning of the next chapter of the Superman: Doomed crossover that has been ravaging the pages of this and other Super-books like this week’s Superman/Wonder Woman Annual #1 and Action Comics Annual #3. Both of those books help to resolve quite a few problems facing the Man/Monster of Steel while showcasing a number of unexpected allies to boot, but they also introduce a major new threat. Issue #34 of Action shows us what happens when a rag-tag, and exuberantly random, group of heroes and villains team up to (continue) to fight the good fight. While the Doomed storyline has been growing more and more, Action #34 serves to refocus on the insecurities of the last-ish son of Krypton resulting in an overall pleasant issue that’s a bit deeper and more cerebral than the last few issues of this crossover have been.
