Little is known about the second season of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” but Tituss Burgess gave fans every reason to have high hopes in a HuffPost Live conversation on Monday.
“We find out about Tituss’ wedding, and his wife. Why he left, how he left, which is really funny,” he explained to host Karamo Brown.
But it’s Burgess’ character’s “one-man show” that will leave audiences in stitches, he warned.
“It’s hilarious,” the Emmy-nominated actor affirmed. “I think it is more absurd than ‘Pinot Noir.'”
While originally worried about the show achieving another performance with “the same energetic, atmospheric, nonsensical feel” as “Pinot Noir,” Burgess said all doubts melted away during a table read of the scene with Tina Fey, the show’s creator.
“As I was reading it, I looked up at Tina,” he recalled through laughter. “She was like, ‘Just keep on going!'”
Fans can also look forward to more celebrity cameos, though Burgess wasn’t at liberty to say who.
“It is as littered with guest-stars who are brilliant and offer up zany parts of their personality just the way that Season 1 did,” he said.
