Jade And Tanner Might Not Be Getting Married On 'Paradise,' Says Chris Harrison

Even before “Bachelor in Paradise” star Tanner Tolbert rather sweatily dropped to one knee and proposed to his romantic interest on the show, Jade Roper, many in Bachelor Nation were already looking forward to a possible wedding during next season’s premiere. Well, don’t get your hopes up too high.

“I don’t think we can make it to next summer,” admitted host Chris Harrison during an interview this week on the HuffPost podcast “Here to Make Friends.” “I don’t think they’ll wait for us.”

A fan-favorite couple, Tanner and Jade paired off near the beginning of the season and enjoyed an apparently drama-free relationship — so drama-free that the two rarely appeared onscreen except when they were dragged into conflict between other couples.

There’s precedent for a “Bachelor in Paradise” premiere wedding, too. This past season kicked off with a small beach wedding between Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul, who became engaged on the finale of “Paradise” Season 1.

The reality show wedding might not be right for every couple, though; around half of the guests at the wedding of Marcus and Lacy were new cast members in bikinis and jorts who hadn’t even been told what event they were attending. (Surprise! Half of your guests are underdressed strangers!)

If next season’s premiere lacks a Janner nuptial celebration, Harrison said, it will likely be due to the show’s filming schedule. “Obviously with Marcus and Lacy, the timing worked out,” explained Harrison. “I don’t know if Jade and Tanner will make it … I think they are champing at the bit to get married, so it might be a race to the altar.”

Awwwwww!

Do people love “The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise,” or do they love to hate it? It’s unclear. But here at “Here to Make Friends,” we both love and love to hate them — and we love to snarkily dissect each episode in vivid detail.
