Mariah Carey has always been glamorous, so it’s hard to imagine her as a slightly awkward, adorable singer in the 90s.

Thanks to an Instagram throwback from Carey on Monday, we now have proof that the star sported the same crazy fashion trends as the rest of us. Clad in a black crop top, denim cutoffs and heeled sneakers with socks, the then 24-year-old Carey looked so ’90s.

The singer captioned her photo: “#1994 #NYC #moments”

The funny thing is, her look is basically back in style now.
