'Star Wars' Actors Support Sick Fan's Wish To See 'The Force Awakens'

“Star Wars” enthusiasts have been waiting patiently for the next installment in the epic series to hit theaters on Dec. 18, but not all fans have the luxury of time.

Daniel Fleetwood was given only months to live after he was diagnosed with a rare form of connective tissue cancer. Although he outlasted the initial prognosis, the “Star Wars” superfan doubts he will survive the next month.

“Judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months, I really don’t think that I’ll be able to make it,” he told KPRC Houston.

“Star Wars” actors Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Carrie Fisher and Bad Robot Productions, director J.J. Abrams’ production company, have all retweeted this request to help Daniel see “The Force Awakens” before its December debut. According to KPRC Houston, it will be up to Walt Disney Studios to make the final call.

“It’s a commitment and he still has that commitment, that drive, and that love and I think that it’s a beautiful thing,” Fleetwood’s wife, Ashley, told the news station. “Even if it’s just a movie. That’s magic for a lot of people.”
