Jessica Simpson knows the power of a great little black dress.

The 35-year-old stepped out on Saturday night for a night in New York City with husband Eric Johnson. Simpson wore a sexy black frock which featured a short hemline and leather accents on the torso, and it appears she opted to go braless. She paired the dress with a black overcoat and a pair of simple black sandals. For his part, Johnson looked dapper in black pants, a grey jacket and a black tie.

Simpson also shared a snap from the night on Instagram, which shows her getting her hair touched up by stylist Christine Symonds.

“Plaster it down,” she captioned the pic.
