Deadpool isn’t one for playing by the rules, not even his own. That’s why he’s set to star in his second annual issue of 2014 when Marvel releases the Deadpool Bi-Annual next month. This special is notable for two reasons. First, it resurrects an obscure team of cybernetically enhanced animal warriors called Brute Force. Second, it inducts a new pair of comedians into the Deadpool fold.
Just as Marvel kicked off the current volume of Deadpool by handing the reins to Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn, they’ve tapped comedians/writers/actors Paul Scheer and Nick Giovannetti to script this bizarre clash between Deadpool and Brute Force. We recently had the chance to chat with Scheer and Giovannetti and find out what makes Wade Wilson so appealing and how writing his misadventures compares to performing standup or writing comedy for television.
