James Bond 'Cured' Pussy Galore Of Her Lesbianism?

A shocking letter recently surfaced that reveals what appears to be some blatantly homophobic attitudes by the author of the James Bond series, Ian Fleming.

The letter in question referenced Pussy Galore, one of the most popular Bond girls, who led an all-lesbian criminal gang and, in the words of Fleming, her “psychological malady” when it came to same-sex attraction.

The letter is reportedly a response to a fan who wrote to Fleming about Galore’s “lesbian tendencies,” with the author claiming that “Pussy only needed the right man to perform the laying on of hands to cure her psychopathological malady.”

The full paragraph regarding Galore’s sexuality reads:

I also disagree with your penultimate paragraph, couched though it is in such graphic language. Pussy only needed the right man to come along and perform the laying on of hands in order to cure her pathological malady.

The queer elements of the “James Bond” franchise has been a hot topic of debate lately, with openly gay Zachary Qunito saying the world is ready for a gay James Bond. Not everyone agrees, however, with Piers Morgan contesting the claim when he said, “I wouldn’t watch that.”

The “007” actor Roger Moore also took issue with the idea of a gay Bond, stating, “I have heard people talk about how there should be a lady Bond or a gay Bond, but they wouldn’t be Bond for the simple reason that wasn’t what Ian Fleming wrote.”

Well Roger, based on this letter we’re not sure we’d put too much stock on the modern day currency of Fleming’s writing.
