Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #1 Review

It’s good to see that Wonder Woman is becoming a real franchise at DC these days. She doesn’t just star in her own solo series and the obligatory Justice League comic anymore. She also has Superman/Wonder Woman and now Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman to her name. It remains to be seen if this newest WW series has the legs to last as long as DC’s most successful digital-first projects (Batman ’66, Injustice: Gods Among Us), but a little more Wonder Woman is never a bad thing.

Sensation Comics is similar in concept to Legends of the Dark Knight and Adventures of Superman in that it features a rotating team of creators telling standalone Wonder Woman stories with little continuity involved. This first issue collects the first three digital chapters in print form (only two of which have been released digitally so far). The first two chapters comprise one larger story by Gail Simone and Ethan Van Sciver, while the third is handled by writer Amanda Deibert and artist Cat Staggs.
