For those of us nursing a broken heart, Adele is an angel, sent from the heavens to help us grieve the most difficult of breakups through her music. (Really, who hasn’t ugly-cried their way through the entire “21” album?)
If you don’t believe us, look no further than the Facebook post one grateful Irish fan recently wrote to the singer on a concert event page.
In the post, which is currently going viral, the woman shares how a night back in 2011 spent drunkenly singing along to Adele’s “Someone Like You” made her realize she deserved so much better than her ex-fiancé. The note, pictured below, is dramatic, hilarious and ultimately uplifting (the breakup led the woman to her future husband!):

Since it was shared last Thursday, the post has over 64,000 “likes” and more than 3,000 shares. In a post on her personal Facebook page, the Adele super fan explained why she felt compelled to give thanks to the goddess of breakup ballads in such a public way.
“I am sure we all have stories like this, and dog s*** p*** stained times in our lives that we look back at now and laugh… And in my case, thank my lucky stars that I’m no longer that person, in that time, and in that position. Love you Ben, I think Adele sent you to me (somehow) !!”
I don’t often bare my soul like such, but I was recalling this story tonight to my best mate Andrea, and I thought fuck…
