Omarion Wasn't Happy About Grammy Nomination Snub

Following the Grammy nomination announcement on Monday, Omarion turned to Twitter to express his disappointment about being snubbed for his single, “Post to Be.

The electro-hop R&B track, co-written by Chris Brown and Jhené Aiko, was released in November 2014. The song appeared on Omarion’s fourth album, “Sex Playlist,” and, in his opinion, it deserved to be nominated for Best R&B Performance.

At first, it seemed like he was pulling a Kanye West, starting things off by calling his track “one of the greatest R&B collaborations ever.” (In his defense, this editor is a fan of “Post to Be.”)

“Post to be” is one of the greatest R&B collaborations ever. CB, Jhene, & myself been in the game 10+.

But really, he was just hoping for some acknowledgement, noting that it takes hard work to make a hit. He also wrote that even though “odds have always been against” him, he’ll continue to do great things.

Even though people act like its easy to make a hit (& it’s not). As an artist you look forward to being acknowledged by the game.

The odds have always been against me. I constantly prove you wrong. I’ll consistently do great things & you will have to celebrate me.

After reading through the tweets, it seems the snub just provided more motivation for Omarion, who also wrote, “I’ll be back. Have my Grammy’s ready.”

This isn’t a “im upset” (post to be) rant. This is a- ok so that wasn’t good enough. I’ll be back. Have my Grammy’s ready.

The game has long changed since I was introduced to it. They want to still treat me like I’m a new to this. My moment is coming trust.

So when it’s all said & done. Remember. I prophesied it. It’s my destiny. I was destined. Chosen.

Omarion wasn’t the only artist disappointed when he saw the list of nominees. Hip-hop artist Killer Mike (of Run The Jewels) tweeted a similar sentiment, scoffing at the Grammys while also using his snub as motivation to create “meaner & better” music.

No Grammy Nom. Ok. That two years of Fuck Shit. Now we gonna Make RTJ even Meaner & Better than Even I expected. #RTJBestRapAlbumSucka
