Stephen Colbert Makes A Powerful Argument For Gun Control

“So, what do we do?”

In the wake of the tragic shootings in Colorado Springs and San Bernardino, Stephen Colbert posed the question to his audience on Monday. The “Late Show” host first defended prayer as a way to share the burden of grief but said that if we want change, it shouldn’t stop there.

“There has to be some way to make it harder to build up an arsenal. The San Bernardino shooters had 6,000 rounds of ammunition. Why is it so easy to buy bullets when I have to show three forms of ID to buy Sudafed?” asked Colbert.

The “Late Show” host also pointed out that if guns were outlawed, and outlaws were then the only ones with guns, at least we’d know who the outlaws are.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
