A new trailer has appeared online for Nightcrawler, in which Jake Gyllenhaal’s aspiring crime reporter finds himself crossing all manner of ethical lines in pursuit of a story.
Realising that freelance crime-scene reporting is the best way to get his foot in the door in the slippery world of TV journalism, Gyllenhaal equips himself with a camera and sets about making sure he’s first on the scene at various car-wrecks, shootouts and home invasions.
However, with his bosses craving more and more lurid footage, it isn’t long before our “hero” is blurring the lines between crime reporter and crime facilitator…
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
This latest trailer is a little less creepy and a little more bombastic than those that have gone before, but there’s still plenty to catch the imagination here, particularly Gyllenhaal’s wild-eyed, vein-popping performance. Unnerving to say the least…
Directed by Dan Gilroy and co-starring Rene Russo, Bill Paxton and Riz Ahmed, Nightcrawler will open in the UK on 17 October 2014.
