Gwen Stefani is taking some time off from “The Voice” next season and her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, isn’t too happy about it.
In an interview with Extra, Shelton lamented her departure and his fix for keeping her on the show.
“I don’t [want] Gwen to not be on the show — why can’t we have a fifth coach?” Shelton said. When the interviewer suggested possibly having two female coaches, the country singer added his support, saying “Why can’t there be? I vote for that!”
Fellow coaches Adam Levine and Pharrell also praised Stefani’s presence on the show, saying the “Used To Love You” singer was the “standout moment” this season.
“Somehow, when Gwen walks in the room, we all look like we’ve been wearing the same outfit for 10 years,” joked Levine.
Stefani and Shelton have been packing on the PDA lately and were recently spotted kissing and cuddling while out on a double date.
The lovebirds even smooched (off-camera, apparently) during a recent “Voice” episode, where Stefani tweeted out this hilarious picture of Shelton biting her shoulder.

So will “The Voice” change it up, and have five coaches, or maybe even two men and two women on the panel? We’ll just have to anxiously wait and see!
