Amy Schumer Opens Up About Man That Tried To Date Her After Criticizing Her Looks

Amy Schumer sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and opened up about the sexist remarks and unnecessary criticism she’s faced since skyrocketing to fame.

“With ‘Trainwreck’ coming out, I was like, “Everyone’s going to say, ‘She’s not pretty enough to be in this movie,'” said Schumer to THR. “And then only one dude wrote that, and people really attacked him, and then he redacted that and wanted to date me.”

Though Schumer refused to name the “dude” in question, E! news pointed to writer Jeffrey Wells’ scathing review on Hollywood Elsewhere.

“She’s obviously sharp and clever and funny as far as the woe-is-me, self-deprecating thing goes, but there’s no way she’d be an object of heated romantic interest in the real world,” wrote Wells. “And yet that’s the apparent premise of Apatow’s film. Schumer’s wide facial features reminded me of a blonde Lou Costello around the time of ‘Buck Privates,’ or Jennifer Aniston’s somewhat heavier, not-as-lucky sister who watches a lot of TV.”

Wells later addressed his comments in a new post, saying Schumer is “a first-class talent and deserves more respect than what I gave her.”

We’re just guessing that Schumer, who told the audience at the Glamour Women of the Year, “I’m like 160 pounds right now, and I can catch a dick whenever I want,” gave no f**ks about any of these comments.
