How Kendall Jenner And Gigi Hadid Made A Homeless Teen's Dream Come True

“America’s Next Top Model” might have closed its doors forever, but that’s not stopping Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner from discovering the next big thing in the modeling industry.

During a commercial shoot with actor Ansel Egort, the Victoria Secret models noticed a young man by the name of John Economou, a homeless 19-year-old from Milwaukee, who came to California to pursue a modeling career.

“One of the girls said to me, ‘You’re cute,’ so I turned around and we struck up [a] conversation,” Economou explained to The Daily Mail. “I didn’t realize who I was speaking to at first and it finally clicked who it was … Kendall was cool, she was super down-to-earth and chill. We were just having a normal conversation talking about life, acting, modeling, personal lives.”

Economou had been trying to break into the modeling industry since moving across the country. Meeting the famous twosome was the shot he’d been waiting for — thanks to Jenner, he’s now signed with Two Management, the modeling agency where she got her start.

Economou’s main point of contact since the fateful run-in has been with Kendall’s manager and “The Fault In Our Stars” star.

“I’ve been talking to Kendall’s manager a lot, and to Ansel, but I haven’t been talking to Kendall or Gigi because they are way too famous,” he said. “I’d like to say thank you to them — they are the reason where I am where I am now.”

“It’s a crazy story. I’m super grateful. I was just in the right place at the right time,” Economou said.

You can say that again.
