If you thought reboots and universal shake-ups were things that only affected Marvel and DC’s superhero comics, guess again. Archie Comics is giving its Sonic the Hedgehog comic book a major overhaul when they release Sonic the Hedgehog Vol. 1: Countdown to Chaos. This graphic novel picks up after the events of the Sonic/Mega Man: Worlds Collide crossover, as Sonic returns to find his world drastically changed. He’ll have to team up with the Freedom Fighters to deal with the effects of Dr. Eggman’s Super Genesis Wave and confront an entirely new and emerging threat.

Countdown to Chaos is the first in a series of original graphic novels that will continue the Sonic mythos in this revamped universe. The book is written by Ian Flynn and features artwork by Evan Stanley, Lamar Wells, Tracy Yardley, Jerry Gaylord, Terry Austin, John Workman, Jack Morelli, Matt Herms and Steve Downer.
