Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey, produced “The Judge,” a drama about a lawyer (Downey) who returns home for his mom’s funeral and winds up defending his father (Robert Duvall), the titular judge, on a murder rap. Downey is pretty pleased with the result.
“Susan and I are delighted that this wound up being the first movie produced through our Team Downey production company at Warner Bros.,” Downey wrote on Facebook. “It’s a drama with lots of heart and wit. Might be the best thing I’ve been part of yet … beginner’s luck, perhaps.”
Directed by David Dobkin (“Wedding Crashers”), “The Judge” also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Vera Farmiga, Billy Bob Thornton and HuffPost Entertainment fave David Krumholtz. He’s the guy Downey pees on in the beginning.
“The Judge” is out on Oct. 10.
