Space Jam is one of those movies that a film critic can absolutely rip apart. Multiple scenes don’t make sense, there are plot holes galore and Newman from Seinfeld is in the film just a bit too much. But screw film critics. The movie is gold and a staple for the childhoods of many. We love Space Jam whether for its humor or killer soundtrack, the movie is something special.
And while we may be getting a Space Jam 2 one day, until now the only real official continuation of its legacy is that SpaceJam.com is still up and running in all of its glorious Geocities-esque design. But luckily the fine people at Funko are keen at providing merchandise for all of our beloved franchises. Over at Entertainment Earth you can go ahead and preorder some Space Jam Pop Vinyl figures.
The figures up for preorder include the goofy looking blue Monstar, the Monstar boss Swackhammer, a very angry looking Marvin the Martian referee, a smiling or serious Taz and Bugs Bunny. I can’t decide what’s more exciting – that we’re getting Space Jam funko pops or that through their appearance I’ve discovered the name of the Monstar Boss and that the blue Monstar is named M3. Space Jam has the deepest lore, who knew?
