Forget everything you know about Anne Hathaway’s “good girl” persona. As it turns out, the 31-year-old actress is a total daredevil.
OK, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but according to an interview in the “Daring” November issue of Harper’s Bazaar (which she covers beautifully in an Armani Prive gown,) she has let loose when it comes to at least one thing: her pants.
“I am getting more daring now. I’ll wear my mom jeans in public that haven’t been tailored ‘just so’ yet, just because they feel good,” she told the glossy.
Now, mom jeans have been cool since way before Hathaway decided to go rogue and part ways with her seamstress, but perhaps the reason she has this new found sense of confidence has something to do with her surprising style inspiration: Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine. “I feel empowered by her. Not just her humor; she reminds me of Diana Vreeland. She wants girls to dress for themselves, be goofy, awesome girls. I have a Pinterest board, which is called Closet Crush, and it’s just all her and Jane Birkin and a little Sophia Amoruso because I think she’s fabulous too,” she said.
So, there you have it. Anne Hathaway is a badass… kind of. Head to Harper’s Bazaar to see the entire spread and pick up your copy of the November issue, which hits newsstands Oct. 21.
