Robert Kirkman Ends That Huge 'Walking Dead' Fan Theory That Would Ruin Everything

“Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman has officially put an end to the one huge fan theory that would’ve completely ruined the series.

Rick Grimes is not in a coma! We repeat! Rick Grimes is not in a coma!

Earlier this week, Uproxx published an article about the popular “Walking Dead” fan theory that Grimes never woke up from his coma and everything on the show is just part of his dream. This caused such a stir that Kirkman took to Twitter to calm everyone down:

Going on record to answer this: http://t.co/3lhUI6A3bW Rick is NOT still in a coma. The events of TWD are definitely happening.

Phew! The crisis has been averted.

The coma theory has been one of the show’s most popular, well-supported and hated ideas on how the series would end.

“Walking Dead” fans shouldn’t breathe a sigh of relief just yet. It wasn’t long after dispelling the rumor that Kirkman had some fun:

But Carl and everyone else are all imagined. He actually NEVER found his family. He’s been crazy since he killed his first zombie. #joking?

Though one big theory is gone, many remain, including Grimes actually being a walker and even that the show has something to do with aliens, but we’ll let Kirkman handle one crazy rumor at a time.

“The Walking Dead” airs Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET on AMC.
