Nicki Minaj Apologizes For Offensive Video, Doesn't 'Condone Nazism'

Nicki Minaj has apologized following backlash over the use of nazi imagery in her “Only” lyric video.

Minaj took to Twitter on Tuesday to explain:

The artist who made the lyric video for “Only” was influenced by a cartoon on Cartoon Network called “Metalocalypse” & Sin City.

Both the producer, & person in charge of over seeing the lyric video (one of my best friends & videographer: A. Loucas), happen to be Jewish

I didn’t come up w/the concept, but I’m very sorry & take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. I’d never condone Nazism in my art.

After its release to Vevo on Saturday, people quickly took to social media to slam the music video for its Nazi-like visual elements, particularly its color scheme and Young Money logo. In the animated video, Minaj plays a dictator who sits on a throne before thousands of uniformed soldiers. You can watch the “Only” lyric video here.
