Graphic Novel Review: Dragon Age - Library Edition

Collecting a trilogy of graphic novels based on the Dragon Age video game series — The Silent Grove, Those Who Speak, and Until We Sleep — Dragon Age Library Edition Volume 1 is a sizable, satisfying collection, albeit with major presentation problems. In addition to witty writing and art that’s pretty like an animated film cel, the hardcover tome features fun facts, anecdotes, oft-needed clarification notes, and unwanted spoilers.

The attraction of the Library Edition is the notes on the margins of its 225 pages, many of which expect you to have read these series of books already. It’s not an unreasonable expectation, but it is unfortunate when authors and artists give away upcoming character deaths, major character reveals, and other things best left discovered without ruination.
