Maybe it was Grant Morrison’s plan all along to kill off Damian Wayne, but that doesn’t mean Damian’s fans have to like the idea. He was the best Robin, and there’s too much potential remaining to simply clear him off the board. But the thing about superhero comics is that death rarely sticks, especially for someone whose family have a habit of bathing in Lazarus Pits. Robin Rises: Omega is a one-shot issue that kicks off a storyline that could very well bring Damian back into the DC Universe. That’s the conceit, at least. In truth, this issue reads more like a conclusion to Pete Tomasi’s recent Batman and Robin storylines, setting the stage for the real meat of Robin Rises in the months ahead. Its not a bad read, but newcomers may be a little confused or disappointed with what Omega actually offers.
