Original Sin #6 Review

Original Sin #5 was a disappointing interlude for this event series, devoting itself almost entirely to exploring Nick Fury’s past as a one-man cosmic assassin. It was the sort of story that might have been fascinating in another context, but its placement here derailed the momentum of Original Sin. And my first thought after diving into Original Sin #6 is that issue #5 really was superfluous. The transition from issue #4’s final page to issue #6’s first page is almost seamless. It’s good to have the series return its focus to the present, but that doesn’t mean the pacing problems have fallen away. There’s too much exposition and too little action considering how late in the game this story is.
