Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is nearing its October 25 release date, and ahead of that, Activision has confirmed a key detail about the shooter’s campaign mode. Like past entries in the series and many other games across the board, Black Ops 6’s campaign will require an internet connection on all platforms.

A FAQ page spotted by CharlieIntel confirms that players will need a “continuous internet connection” to play any of Black Ops 6’s modes, including campaign. Activision said this requirement is in place to “deliver the highest-quality visuals while also reducing the game’s overall storage space on your hard drive.”

As announced previously, Black Ops 6 utilizes a new streaming technology for textures that helps reduce the game’s overall file size. “With these capabilities, we can cycle content that is less frequently used by players to a streaming cache, avoiding the need to download it directly to your device’s storage. Going forward, more content will be included in this cache,” Activision said in August.
