Netflix's Daredevil to Have a "Gritty 1970s New York" Feel

Netflix’s 13-episode Daredevil series will have a “gritty 1970s New York feel,” according to showrunner Steven S. DeKnight.

Speaking at the world premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy, DeKnight said that shooting has just started in the Big Apple and is going “phenomenally well” thus far.

“We’re going for a gritty, 1970s’ New York feel for the show. We love the idea of beauty and the decay of the city, and Hell’s Kitchen being a place that’s both beautiful and gritty at the same time. And that’s why Matt Murdock loves it and wants to protect it.”

As for a release date, DeKnight was less revealing, saying only that it will hit Netflix “some time next year.”
