Florence Henderson has come a long way from her days as a demure suburban housewife on “The Brady Bunch.”
The 81-year-old actress sat down with Matt Lauer on “The Today Show” Wednesday to discuss how she’s still got it going on, all these years later.
For her, that means getting the most out of a vibrant sex life, and she’s not afraid to talk about it. Earlier this year, she opened up about her “friend with benefits,” saying “There is no age limit on the enjoyment of sex. It keeps getting better.”
On Wednesday, she had this to say about her “friend”: “We’ve been friends for a long time. We’re kind of like, ‘same time, next year’. When we see each other it’s wonderful. I don’t know that I would want to be married again, but I do love companionship.”
Without revealing his name, Henderson, divorced and widowed, also has described her sex buddy as a chiropractor in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Henderson told Lauer she feels better now than she did in her 30s. She chalks it up to her regular fitness regimen. She makes it a point to work out at least three times a week, doing anything from pilates and TRX to getting on the elliptical and dancing.
“I’m just grateful,” she said, adding that she wakes up every morning thinking of all her blessings, including four children and five grandchildren.
But aging gracefully isn’t all physical. Lauer mentioned that, despite her active lifestyle, “There are just some things we can’t do at 81,” to which Henderson quickly quipped, “I didn’t get that memo.”
“It’s so important to keep moving and don’t buy into the myth,” Henderson said of aging. “I say do anything you feel like as long as you don’t hurt yourself or hurt anyone else. And things don’t stop working in your body or your mind.”
