Since actor Jamie Bell and ex-wife Evan Rachel Wood split last year, Bell has been outspoken about the challenges of single parenting.
On Wednesday, the “TURN: Washington’s Spies” and “Fantastic Four” actor explained to HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani why being a single dad is a “difficult job.”
“That idea [that] it takes a village to raise a kid is true,” he said. “I mean, it’s hard. When you’re by yourself, you often need an extra pair of hands. You often need someone to lighten the load a second so you can just breathe.”
But while it’s challenging, the “reward is that you have an incredible relationship with your child, ’cause it’s just you,” Bell said, adding that he “wouldn’t trade that for the world.”
