Saga was the big winner at this year’s Will Eisner Comic Industry awards ceremony (think Oscars but for comic books). The lewd-yet-emotional comic from Image Comics took home Best Continuing Series, Best Writer for Brian K. Vaughan, and Best Painter/Multimedia Artist (interior art) for Fiona Staples.

Marvel Comics earned the Best Single Issue award for Hawkeye #11, the beloved Pizza Dog issue by Matt Fraction and David Aja. Aja also picked up an Eisner for Best Cover Artist for his work at Marvel. Fraction get him some more gold, too, nabbing Best New Series along with artist Chip Zdarsky for Sex Criminals from Image.

DC/Vertigo got some love thanks to The Wake by Scott Snyder and Sean Murphy — it won Best Limited Series along with Best Penciller/Inker for Murphy.
