5 Seconds of Summer: Australian pop sensation or Target’s employees of the month?
The band decided to take the promotion of their U.S. debut album into their own hands. Instead of appealing to their usual audience of teenagers, they decided to dress up in Target employee uniforms and advertise their album to a slightly different demographic.
“We’re going to be pretty much trying to sell our album to middle-aged men,” explains drummer, Ashton Irwin.
Throughout the video, watch as members of the band try to convince customers to buy their album — whether that be through persuasion or by slyly dropping the CD into customers’ shopping carts.
The prank may not have been successful with middle-aged men, but it definitely won us over.
