Last wee during Comic-Con, we showed you a glimpse of the new Transformers toys Hasbro has planned for 2015. While Hasbro will obviously be focusing a lot of attention on the upcoming Robots in Disguise animated series, they’re also launching a new themed line of Transformers Generations toys called “Combiner Wars.” Collectors can use Voyager and Deluxe Scale figures from the Combiner Wars series to build large Combiner Transformers like Superion and Menasor.

But now we’ve learned that the Combiner Wars toys will be tying into a Transformers storyline of their own. At Comic-Con IDW Publishing announced a new Combiner Wars comic book storyline. Combiner Wars will play out in the pages of Transformers #39-41 and Transformers: Windblade #1-3. The crossover will be co-written by Mairghread Scott and John Barber and illustrated by Sarah Stone and Livio Ramondelli.
