Two days before Tom Brady appealed his four-game “deflategate” suspension, Boston Globe cartoonist Dan Wasserman summed up exactly what’s perturbed so many people about it.
The punch line somewhat echoes the sentiments of Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, who pointed out Tuesday that Brady’s suspension is two games longer than that originally given to Ray Rice for a domestic assault arrest.
It must be said, however, that the NFL eventually came down much harder on Rice after a video of the running back punching out his then-fiancée surfaced. The league has since imposed harsher mandatory penalties for domestic abuse.
Still, point taken.
