Pop music just got even better, and it’s all because of Owen Luebbers’ quick feet.
The 16-year-old from Philadelphia has developed a following on Vine for his Irish dances set to pop music (think Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor). He’s been dancing since he could walk, and has entered competitions for 12 years.
Owen’s motivation for blending hit songs with his dancing skills came from other people’s perception of Irish dancing. “I think the majority of people don’t know what Irish dance is, so by dancing to pop songs, I could make it more interesting to a wider audience,” he said in email to The Huffington Post. “I also love finding new music and combining it with dance.”
So far, Owen’s Vines have gotten more than 18 million loops. He’s also caught the eye of some celebrities, including Fifth Harmony and Britney Spears.

When he’s not busy posting viral Vines, Owen shares his dance skills elsewhere. He auditioned for “America’s Got Talent” with a friend and recently started a YouTube channel. Oh, and he pretty much slays when it comes to competitions.
“I am a seven-time national champion and am currently second in the world,” he said. “I compete in international competitions several times a year.”
