We all feared getting cooties from kids in elementary school — and Elijah Wood’s new movie finally validates that dread.
In “Cooties,” which comes from Wood’s horror production company, SpectreVision, a school of children become infected by cooties via a chicken-nugget virus, turning them into ruthless zombies. As they begin to take over the school, the teachers — including Wood, Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill, Nasim Pedrad and Jack McBrayer — join together to fight them off.
The film was co-written by Leigh Whannell (“Saw,” “Insidious”) and Ian Brennan (“Glee”), so you can expect a good mix of horror and comedy. “Cooties” opens Sept. 18.
