What does an “SNL” Digital Short with Kit Harington look like? Something close to HBO’s “7 Days In Hell.”
HBO’s sports mockumentary stars Andy Samberg and Harington as rival tennis players who face off in an epic seven-day Wimbeldon match. Samberg plays Aaron Williams, a tennis pro returning from retirement (and apparently fresh out of a Swedish prison), while Harington is Charles Poole, whose overbearing mother is played by Mary Steenburgen (perfect casting). Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Lena Dunham and Michael Sheen also make appearances.
Harington recently told Collider that the film, which is directed by Jake Szymanski (“SNL”), was filmed in three days. “We just shot the shit out of everything,” he said. “And it was farcical and stupid and I really want people to see it.” Watch the trailer, where Samberg tries to attack a man-bunned Jon Snow with his tongue.
“7 Days In Hell” premieres on July 11 at 10 p.m. ET on HBO.
