If you stayed through the credits of Guardians of the Galaxy then you may have a question or two… and if not, or if you haven’t seen the film yet, then read no further!
Spoilers obviously follow…
O.K., so if you’re still there, then it’s safe to talk about the stinger scene that comes after the credits have rolled. Benicio del Toro’s Collector is sipping a drink and nursing his wounds as Cosmo, the Russian space dog, comforts him and licks his face in the wake of the destruction his home/museum have undergone in the film. A voice offscreen is heard — how can you let him lick you like that? Gross! — and we pan to see that it is none other than Howard the Duck, a Marvel character who got his own movie long before Cap, Thor, or Iron Man ever did. And from George Lucas no less!
