Josh Duggar — who admitted this past May that as a teenager he molested five minor girls (some of whom were his sisters) — released a heartfelt message to his father Jim Bob Duggar — who admitted to helping cover up the abuse for years — in a Father’s Day video.
The Duggars are, of course, the stars of the somehow miraculously still uncanceled TLC reality series “19 Kids and Counting.” On Sunday, Josh shared the video, thanking his father for being there “through the hard times and through the good times.” Josh’s wife Anna chimed in, too, thanking her father-in-law for “raising such an awesome husband.”
Jim Bob was definitely there for his eldest son through those “hard times.” In fact, in an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, the Duggar patriarch revealed that he and his wife Michelle didn’t seek any sort of help for their eldest until the third time he confessed his troubling behavior to them. Jim Bob went on to admit that the breaking point was when Josh admitted to touching one of his younger sisters, who was only 5 years old at the time.
It’s all a tad bit ironic, right?
