Legendary actor Omar Sharif has died at the age of 83, reports Variety.
The Egyptian-born star, who was best known for roles in “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Funny Girl” and “Dr. Zhivahgo,” suffered a heart attack on Friday in a hospital in Cairo, his agent Steve Kenis told the website.
This past May, Kenis confirmed that the Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actor had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
He made his last film appearance in “Rock the Casbah” in 2013.
