A 'School Of Rock' TV Series Coming To Nickelodeon Is Way Hardcore

Nickelodeon is getting the band back together!

The cable network has ordered a “School of Rock” TV series based on the 2003 film starring Jack Black. According to Variety, Nickelodeon has ordered a 13-episode season and will partner with Paramount TV on the project.

The series will focus on Dewey Finn, a rocker who poses as a substitute teacher at a prep school and shows the students how to stick it to the man through rock ‘n roll. Paramount TV president Amy Powell said, “With Dewey’s outrageous personality and rock star sensibilities taking center stage, ‘School of Rock’ will be an irresistibly fun show for the whole family,” reports Deadline.

“School of Rock” director Richard Linklater and producer Scott Rudin will executive produce the series. And though there’s no word yet if any former cast members, including Jack Black or “iCarly’s” Miranda Cosgrove, will be involved, for those about to bring back “School of Rock,” we salute you.
