The man who sued director Bryan Singer in April for allegedly sexually abusing him as a minor withdrew his lawsuit against the X-Men filmmaker today.
Michael Egan sued Singer and several others just weeks before X-Men: Days of Future Past opened in theaters, a move that caused Singer to drop out of promoting what would become his biggest hit in years and one of the highest-grossing films of 2014. In a statement issued in late April, Singer called the allegations “outrageous, vicious and completely false.”
“A federal judge in Hawaii, where the case was filed, granted Egan’s motion for motion for voluntary dismissal Wednesday,” reports Variety. “Egan had previously dropped his sexual abuse lawsuits against former Disney executive David Neuman and former TV exec Garth Ancier. He had been representing himself in his filing of a motion to dismiss the claim against Singer.”
