Actress Amanda Peterson, who was best known for her role opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1987 teen movie “Can’t Buy Me Love,” has died at the age of 43, her father told TMZ.
According to the website, Peterson’s body was discovered in her home in Greeley, Colorado, on July 5 after her family hadn’t heard from her in two days.
Her cause of death is still unknown, but her father told the website, “She had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed.”
Peterson got her start as a child actress in the early 1980s, landing small roles on “Silver Spoons,” “Boone” and the movie musical “Annie,” before nabbing her most memorable role in “Can’t Buy Me Love.” The actress was last seen on screen in 1994’s “Windrunner.”
