Best buds and out media personalities Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen revealed that they were set up on a date years ago — but the prospective love connection never got off the ground.
“When we were set up … we had a phone call to talk before we actually went out on a date,” Cooper revealed on an installment of Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” last week, as TMZ is reporting. “And I don’t know how, but both of us sort of decided, based on that one phone call, ‘We’re not going to go on a date.'”
The revelation came after a viewer asked how Cohen, 46, and Cooper, 47, had become pals. While it may be the romance that never was, the pair have nonetheless hit it off as pals, even vacationing together.
Of course, that doesn’t mean there aren’t a fair number of personal details shared between the two. In an previous installment of “Watch What Happens Live” earlier this year, Cooper offered viewers a particularly intimate peek into Cohen’s private life.
“I know a lot of secrets about Andy, but I guess the one that would surprise people the most is that he’s a top,” he said at the time. “Believe me, there’s nothing wrong with that, but I’m just saying, I think that would surprise people.”
