Archie Comics is starting Dark Circle Comics early next year — a new imprint for series featuring their classic superheroes — including characters like Shield, The Fox, Wizard, The Web, Firefly, and more.

Dark Circle editor Alex Segura told USA Today how the new line will be an accessible, clean slate, which will distance itself from the burden of The Red Circle brand — a line that has experienced several reboots over its 40-year history. “With Dark Circle, we want to not only break away from that, but also show fans, retailers and newcomers that this is a fresh start featuring recognizable names and icons with zero baggage,” says Segura, “It starts here. You don’t need to read anything else.”
