Given that the movie is titled Batman: Assault on Arkham, it might come as a surprise to hear that Batman isn’t the main character. In fact, we only see him for a third of the movie, if that. But this isn’t a bad thing. Assault on Arkham features a group of C-list villains (and Harley Quinn) that you might have never heard of going in, but will have earned your love by the end.

The Riddler is up to no good, putting him on Batman’s radar, which lands him in Arkham Asylum after the hard-hitting action scene that opens the movie. That’s when the movie shifts gears, delivering stylized introductions for Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Black Spider, KGBeast, Killer Frost, King Shark and Captain Boomerang. It’s those fast-moving, quirky intros that signal this will be a different kind of movie than you’d expect.
