We’ll meet Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but he may get some solo screen time afterward.
According to Latino Review, Affleck may direct his own Batman movie, which is allegedly titled “The Batman.” The website first reported on the rumor of a standalone Batman movie last year. “Batman v Superman” scribe Chris Terrio, who is also working on David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad,” as well as “Justice League: Part One” and “Part Two,” will reportedly write the solo Batman film.
The DC Comics movie is expected to hit theaters in 2018, according to the report, which would put it in direct competition with Marvel‘s previously announced “Captain Marvel.” Until then we can expect to see Affleck’s Caped Crusader in “Justice League: Part One” in 2017, and possibly in Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” next year. While Affleck has only been confirmed for the “Justice League,” the actor was spotted on the “Suicide Squad” set recently, and Batman himself (most likely a stuntman) was seen cruising alongside the Joker in leaked set footage.
The Huffington Post could not immediately reach Warner Bros. or Ben Affleck’s reps for comment.
