The first TV spot has arrived online for Gone Girl, in which Ben Affleck’s supposedly doting husband finds himself the focus of suspicion when his wife goes missing.
Despite Rosamund Pike’s voiceover explaining how she has come to fear her husband, this latest spot is told largely from Affleck’s perspective, as circumstances conspire to seemingly indicate his guilt.
Happily, there aren’t too many major plot points given away here, so non-readers of Gillian Flynn’s source novel needn’t fear having any of the twists and turns spoiled for them…
Take a look at the new spot, below…
David Fincher’s signature murk is all over this one, with even Tyler Perry coming across as gritty and hard-boiled. With a sterling ensemble cast in attendance, it promises to be quite the ride…
Co-starring Neil Patrick Harris, Scoot McNairy and Kim Dickens, Gone Girl will open in the UK on 3 October 2014.
